          that marks your advancement in organ study?

One of the purposes of our guild is

To evaluate, by examination, attainments in organ playing, choral techniques, conducting, and the theory and general knowledge of music, and to grant certificates to those who pass such examinations at specified levels of certification.

You may have noticed that some of our members have the letter designations SPC, AAGO, FAGO, ChM or FAGO behind their names.  Those letters signify that those individuals have tested using rigorous standards set forth by the guild and passed, attaining a certain performance level.

Judy Bede, our Chair of Educational Concerns and the Study Progam, is the contact for beginning that process of examination.  SPC (Service Playing Certificate) is the lowest level.  

• We encourage AGO certification by helping members prepare and by proctoring examinations according to National guidelines and schedules. For more information, please contact:

Scholarship Application

Financial scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors or older who want to study organ. Those applying must have a piano background and must complete an audition.

Deadline: April 15, Each Year
